1. Name, Title, Organization. Daniela Feldhausen, Founder of Kids Up Reading Tutors. At Kids Up Reading Tutors, we help young children and teens in grades 1-12, catch up to their peers in reading and spelling. We work with kids who have been diagnosed with dyslexia/dysgraphia as well as kids who simply did not get as much reading instruction as they needed (possibly due to COVID). Our 1-on-1 reading and spelling instruction is based on the Science of Reading and Orton-Gillingham. Most students “graduate” from our program in 4-9 months. Visit us at www.KidsUpReadingCoaches.
2. What is your connection to Lafayette Elementary School? We have successfully tutored many Lafayette students and are familiar with the school community!
3. How does your organization engage with/support the Lafayette community? We have a great presence in the Lafayette community. We are a business sponsor for the school. We attend the Fall Festival and meet many families and students. We also donate a KidsUp gift certificate to the HSA school auction every year.
4. What is your favorite Lafayette tradition? The Fall Festival – it’s awesome!
5. What is your favorite thing to do in the neighborhood? Child’s Play at The Avalon.
