Welcome to Lafayette HSA

Principal Prall joined the Lafayette community in the summer of 2024. Prior to joining Lafayette, Principal Prall served DCPS as a classroom teacher, as an Assistant Principal, and at central office in the Office of Early Childhood Education and the Office of Family and Community Engagement. Prior to her work with DCPS, Katie taught at the Vanderbilt demonstration school in Abu Dhabi where her love for travel took off. Through meeting with and learning from talented individuals from a range of countries and cultures, Katie developed a passion for working in diverse communities that reflect our world. She uses that passion to create sustainable change so that our schools and systems produce equitable and excellent outcomes for our students. She holds degrees in Early Childhood Education and Child Studies from Vanderbilt University and in Education Policy and Leadership from Stanford University.
