Furloughed workers impacted by the shutdown can file for unemployment insurance benefits through the Department of Employment Services (DOES). Initial claims can be filed online at dcnetworks.org. Visit does.dc.gov for more information.
Lastly, the District of Columbia has launched TalentCapital.ai, a new regional initiative to connect residents, especially recently displaced workers, with opportunities to keep residents in DC. The program offers personalized career coaching and training in fields like AI, data science, and project management. DC residents looking for their next career move are encouraged to explore their site.
