Bear Carving, School Pride

Jun 11, 2026

Have you had a chance to see the new, stunning bear sculpture at Lafayette-Pointer Park? After sustaining irreparable damage from a storm last year, one of the park’s 250-year-old oak trees saw a transformation last week. The tree’s stump was carved into the shape of our school mascot and is already becoming a symbol of school pride.

This was made possible by Lafayette parent, Scott Azfal in partnership with Friends of Lafayette-Pointer Park, including Board Member Stephanie Cappa. Please join us in celebrating their contribution to the Lafayette community.
