Farewell and thank you

Dear Lafayette Families –

As July is upon us, it is officially time for me to bid you all farewell.  I deeply appreciate the time we have spent together, the moments we have shared, and the learning and joy we have created within our community.  Over the past two months, I have continued to be grateful for all that you do as a community.  Most recently, your advocacy with the DC Council helped to restore over $640,000 to the Lafayette budget for the upcoming school year.  I am confident that in collaboration with the LSAT, incoming Principal Prall will work to utilize the funding to support the students and staff in the building to restore some of the positions that had previously been cut.  We are all grateful to have the additional resources available to support students.

Thank you to each and every one of you who has extended a heartfelt goodbye, well wishes , favorite memories, and love. The last ten years together has been remarkable and a part of my professional and personal path that I will always treasure.  Please don’t hesitate to reach out to share updates, celebrations, or just say hi – my contact information continues to be the same (; 202-604-8473).  DC is such a vibrant and interconnected community – I look forward to crossing paths with many of you in the coming weeks, months, and years.  Thank you for trusting me every day to be part of your children’s growth and learning.   It truly has been my honor to serve our school community.   Lafayette is an incredibly special place.

With love, gratitude, and a “see you later…”

Dr. B
